Revolution in task management
Taskify is designed to address key challenges in task and project management. It provides an intuitive solution for product managers, enabling efficient task management, project tracking, and seamless team communication, all within a clear and user friendly interface.
Vision of the project
Product managers in large tech companies often face challenges managing overflowing emails, multiple task lists, and continuous updates from different teams.
The goal of this project was to develop a platform that simplifies and streamlines task management, providing a more efficient and organized workflow.
The problem
The research process
Users research
As part of the research process, five team leaders from tech companies were interviewed to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges encountered in their daily work. Through a series of targeted questions, the investigation focused on their workflows, revealing a key insight: existing systems designed to streamline tasks often introduce additional complexity and frustration.
Following the completion of the interviews, the collected data was analyzed to identify recurring patterns. These insights served as the foundation for the next steps in developing an effective solution.
Secondary research
To validate initial feedback, extensive research was conducted across informational websites, articles, and blogs. The findings highlighted common challenges affecting productivity, including information overload, inefficient workflows, collaboration issues, and poor tool usability. Additionally, ineffective communication emerged as a major contributor to project failures. These insights reinforced the focus on developing a user-friendly and efficient system.
The research provided a deeper understanding of the key pain points faced by product managers in their daily work. These findings formed the foundation for designing the system.
Affinity mapping
Empathy map
During the research, it became clear how important it is to connect with the true emotions of the users. Empathizing with their experiences was absolutely crucial and helped make precise design decisions tailored to their needs and pain points.
User journey map
The journey map helped to see the experience through their eyes to grasp what they do, think, feel, and even fear. It helped to understand deeply every step, action, and emotion that product managers experience throughout their workday from planning tasks in the morning to wrapping up the day with a summary of results.
Competitive audit
With a deep understanding of user challenges, the next process focused on solution exploration. To identify the best approach, it was essential to expand the scope of research and analyze existing market offerings. A thorough examination of task and project management tools provided insights into effective features and areas for improvement. The competitive analysis not only highlighted market gaps but also served as a valuable source of inspiration.
Brainstorming and HMWs
A brainstorming session was conducted with experienced professionals in the field, aiming to generate a wide range of diverse ideas and explore new directions. The "HMW" (How Might We) framework was utilized to structure the discussion and encourage innovative thinking.
This combination of collaborative input and a structured approach provided new insights that might have otherwise been overlooked. The session not only contributed to the process but also enhanced creativity and refined potential solutions.
Crazy 8's
The Crazy 8's method was utilized to rapidly generate a diverse range of ideas, enabling the exploration of multiple creative directions efficiently.
User flow
A visual user flow was created to ensure optimal alignment of the system's functionality and processes.
Low fidelity
Sketching simple and focused wireframes allowed for quick idea testing, concentration on structure and functionality, and easy adjustments as needed.

Wrap up
To summarize, I’m proud of the process I went through and the results I achieved. With more time, I’d focus on further testing and another round of user interviews to deepen my understanding of their needs and refine the system.
A key takeaway from this project was realizing the importance of separating my own perspective from the users’ experience. Even with my familiarity in the field, collecting focused insights about the users was crucial. This strengthened my understanding of how design decisions are deeply tied to user experience. Good design isn’t just about how it looks, it’s about creating a meaningful and impactful experience for the users.
